FAQs

Artisan Bricks by Jeffrey Kong - LEGO Pencil SharpenerWhy do you choose to create with LEGO bricks?

The humble building brick is a powerful medium for creating art, because you do not need special training or equipment to put bricks together. So this medium makes art accessible to everyone. This also means everyone can tell their own story with bricks.

At the moment I create with LEGO parts, but I’m always exploring opportunities to work with other building bricks. All my creations are built using original LEGO parts unless otherwise stated.

Can you design something special for me?

Sure! I accept all kinds of commissions and respond to all requests within 24 hours. Please provide the following details:

  • When do you need this?
  • Minimum/maximum size of model
  • Quantity
  • Assembled or as kits (parts + instructions)?
  • Reference pictures
  • Budget

Generally, the more specific you can get, the faster I’ll be able to get back to you with an accurate quote.

Delivery is free for all commissioned projects based in Singapore. To find out more, please contact Jeffrey.

Can I purchase your creations?

Yes. If you see any creations you like, just contact me and we can work something out.

Do you use glue? Do you cut, paint or modify your bricks?

The short answer is no. I never use glue unless the model will be subject to display stress, and even then all my creations are designed to be held together without the need for glue.

I will never cut or modify any brick. You can say I’m a purist, but I think having to cut any part is plain wrong. It’s far better to achieve the desired effect with pure technique.

I’m from the media. Can I feature you in a story?

Sure! I respond to all media requests within 24 hours. For more information or requests for hi-res images, please contact Jeffrey.

Are you the same brick artist Jeffrey Kong behind BricksBen Creations?

Yes. I’ll be posting all my latest work on Artisan Bricks (Facebook, Flickr, Instagram and website). You can still check out my older creations here.
